COVID-19 Crisis In Florida: State Breaks Records After Virus Explodes, Medical Advice Ignored

Florida’s Department of Health confirmed that as of today there are 9,194 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the state’s total known cases to 291,629. There were also 132 new deaths announced, bringing the statewide death toll to 4,409.

Miami is now the epicenter for the virus. Critics point the finger at Gov. Ron DeSantis whose response has been much like that of his political benefactor, Donald Trump.

Sean Shaw, former Florida House Representative and founder of People Over Profits joined Roland Martin on #RolandMartinUnfiltered to discuss the lack of leadership coming from Florida and the White House during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shaw told Roland, under the leadership of Gov. DeSantis the state was “slow to close — fast to open [and] now look at what’s happened.”
